MITSUBISHI 380 review in detail:

Mitsubishi 380 is perhaps a bit on the conservative side, though attractively styled. It provides quiet, smooth running that makes travel effortless.

Available with either a 5 speed manual or automatic transmission, standard features on the ES include traction control, front and side air bags, automatic climate control air conditioning, power mirrors, power windows, power driver's seat, steering wheel-mounted remote audio controls, and Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD). Also featured in the ES are alloy wheels and sports front bumper treatment with front fog lamps. Next in the range, the auto-only SX adds sports seats with a unique grey trim, leather steering wheel, 6-disc CD stereo with multifunction colour LCD display, sports rear bumper, 17" alloy wheels and sports-tuned suspension.

The front seats are big and well shaped, and interior room is impressive. Two large adults can travel in the rear in almost as much comfort as in the front, with room for a third without too much of a squeeze.

Interior styling is bolder than that of the exterior and follows a semi-sports theme.

Handling is good, with a positive feel despite it being a large front-wheel driver. The big 3.8-litre V6 engine is great with plenty of power and torque being delivered in a pleasing and smooth manner.

Mitsubishi has slashed prices after being disappointed with sales of the 380 and is offering very good value for money, particularly when you realise the standard equipment on every model includes climate-controlled air conditioning, a CD stereo that's MP3 compatible and operated through steering wheel controls, a powered driver's seat, and remote central locking.

Sales are still well below desired levels, but are better than before.

Build quality is generally high, though some flaws have been spotted in early build cars.
